Audio Podcasts: What Could the P Really Stand For?

Alliteratively speaking, the P in Podcasts could easily stand for Proven, Powerful, and Practical communications. It is easy for tried-and-true communications tactics like audio podcasts to get overlooked in all the uproar over today’s latest and greatest communications technologies. But audio podcasts are enjoying a surprisingly robust position among savvy communicators as an important and vibrant communications channel.

IABC Fort Worth’s April membership luncheon features Dr. Christine Hubbard, Ph.D., Professor of English at Tarrant County College’s Northwest Campus and audio podcast guru, exploring the ins-and-outs of professional podcasting as a means of communicating with existing and prospective clients, as well as target audiences. Dr. Hubbard will offer a candid look at the benefits of podcasting as a communications tool. She also will unveil how surprisingly easy and cost-effective it can be to create and distribute podcasts. You’ll be surprised by how easy it is to access free software to create your podcasts and how readily available resources like free sound effects and music are online.

Dr. Christine Hubbard teaches English and Film Appreciation at Tarrant County College’s Northwest Campus and serves as the Achieving the Dream Campus Coordinator. During her tenure at TCC’s Northwest Campus, she has served as president of the faculty association and as Department Chair for English, Reading and Developmental Studies. She won the Chancellor’s Award for Exemplary Teaching for 2009 and was a Piper Professor nominee in 2010. Dr. Hubbard also is an accomplished poet and author. She writes poetry and is currently working on a collection of found poetry based on news articles.
